Nishad Sankar '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Nishad Sankar, and I am currently in 11th grade at West Forsyth High School. I am a dedicated, eager, and ambitious athlete who doesn't stop striving to reach my fullest potential on the track and in the classroom, as I have maintained a 4.0 and higher GPA throughout high school while running track. Although I excelled in the long jump and triple jump in 10th grade by making it to the state championship and had some great experiences in the past, I'm still yearning to learn every detail possible to take my personal record distances farther a couple of inches, and potentially feet. Whether it's academically or athletically, I am a fierce competitor who isn't satisfied with anything short of the highest level possible, so I have the perseverance to commit to whatever steps it takes to make it to the top. My biggest goal is to compete in collegiate level track in my favorite events, long and triple jump, and get insightful coaching and techniques that I can build upon to hopefully sometime make it to the biggest stage in the Olympics. I want to attend a school that is not only very competitive in track and field but also has a great educational program that has a great Economics path, as that is the major that I'm focused on. I feel as though I am different from other recruits in the fact that I am like a sponge soaking up every bit of knowledge I can find to help me improve in my sport, whether that's from my coaches or on the Internet. I pay attention and listen very well to the little, but significant details that my coaches mention so that I can keep striving and progressing to be the best student-athlete I can be.
