Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Michael Smith and I am 17 years old, 6'1", 170 lbs and run track. My primary race is the 400m Hurdles. Currently my fastest time is 53.1 sec. My secondary race is the 400m dash. My fastest time is 48.7 sec. The most important accomplishment is that this past season (2009) I accumulated 6 national medals. At the USATF Youth Nationals I placed 1st in the 4x400, 2nd in the 400m hurdles and 3rd in the 400m dash. At the AAU Junior Olympics I placed 2nd in the 4x400, 3rd in the 400m hurdles, and 4th in the 400m dash. So far this season (2011), I have won USATF Youth Nationals in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400. I also placed 6th in the 400 meter dash. Currently I am a Team Captain. I make sure that all other athletes on the club are doing what they are supposed to do. I stay after practice so other athletes and I do extra work (i.e. pushups) so that we will perform better at the highest level at every track meet. My preference for schools is: somewhere where it is warm, urban and preferably the South East.
