Dedicated to achieving collegiate excellence, I aspire to contribute to your team’s success through the mixture of a persistent work ethic, coachability, and academic prowess. Excelling academically, I’ve maintained at least a 3.6 GPA throughout my school years, consistently earning a spot on the honor roll. I’ve taken on the challenge of AP classes, I bring not only athletic dedication but also a commitment to academics which I take very seriously, embodying what a coach looks for in a student-athlete.
My athletic journey reflects my dedication. Running, my first skill even before I learned to walk, evolved into a fervent competitiveness. Joining ‘Running Club’ in elementary school, which specialized in 5K races, tirelessly working to be a top runner.
As a freshman I ran cross country, my journey shifted from cross country to track, after realizing that I dreaded long distance. Initially I wanted to run the 800 meters however, I faced a challenge after a time trial. The coach told me that my time was too slow to be a good 800 runner. The 800 felt too long so I wasn’t too upset about that, but to prove I wasn‘t slow I was determined to prove myself as a sprinter. That season I became one of two freshmen sprinters on the varsity team.
Post-freshman track season, I was happy however, I wasn’t satisfied I wanted more speed, strength, and explosiveness. Choosing football over cross country as a sophomore, I learned valuable lessons in mental toughness, teamwork, and seizing opportunities.
After football season, I not only experienced a boost in physical strength, speed, and explosiveness but also carried with me the accomplishments I had set the year prior. These skills seamlessly translated to my track performance, with the gained mental toughness becoming a driving force during challenging races. Teamwork principles from football played a key role in relay events, amplifying our collective success. The explosive strength cultivated in football propelled me to excel in sprints on the track. Notably, during my sophomore track season, this dedication and enhanced skill set propelled me to the state level, marking a significant milestone in my athletic journey.
