This year is my freshman year of high school. I run the 400,800, and 1600. I plan on going pro in the 400 or 800. My PR last year was a 53.79 at state and I ended up getting 1st in the IESA State championships in 1a. My goal as a freshman is to break 52.5 seconds and 2:05 in the 800. I’m wanting to pursue in track and go to college. I want to also possibly going to the olympics someday and running for team USA in whichever event they need me in. I also play basketball and baseball and have a little bit of accomplishments there. I'm very dedicated to my career for track and really want to be successful in this sport. I show a lot of dedication by doing research and training. I succeeded at sectionals during my 7th grade year and they use an app called Athletic.net. This app shows athletes times and when they ran it. I found the results from the other sectionals of who I would run against at the state meet. When I arrived at state, I found the kid that was my most competition and I met up with him. I watched tapes of him and researched of how he ran and I trained for it and ended up beating him. I did the same thing my 8th grade year. Right before sectionals, I decided that I wanted to run the 400 and we don't have a track at our school. We went to a track and i practiced running all my events to see how I would do coming race day. I then researched my competition to see who I had to beat. I then beat him and did the same thing at sectionals and state. I found the kid I would run the 400 against. It was my third time running the race last season and I ended up taking 1st at state and I really want to be better this season and reach my goals. I want to relive that experience all over again and I am going to work for it so I can reach that moment. Not only do I have dedication for sports, I have it for school too. I have straight A’s except in one class. I get along with everyone at school and I think that I could be someone who is fun to be around and I want to build connections with coaches, teachers, and other students at whatever college I attend. I've been watching a lot of college meets and the olympics and realized that I want to compete at that level. I want an opportunity that most don't get. Nobody believes in people who run track at our school so I want to put in the work and prove everyone wrong. At the same time I would not be unsportsmanlike and I wouldn't rub it in their face if I get the opportunity but i would feel more accomplished if I did something that people didn't believe in.
