Michael Biondo '13 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I�??m Mike Biondo. I run track at Warren Township High School and also with the Waukegan Invaders. I started running track in 7th grade because my dad wanted me to try a new sport (I previously played baseball, soccer and basketball). I fell in love with track instantly. To me track means hard work. A lot of kids dread going to practice, but to me that's the best part, the part where you get better. My travel coach always tells me "It�??s the guys who want it more that'll make it", and I want a track scholarship more than anything. I never really had empathy for the little guy, but now that I�??m no longer the tallest athlete around, I have the highest respect for hard working guys that might be over looked for whatever reason. I will bring the drive and determination to get better everyday on the track, and, even more, off the track. I am adopted, as well are my five other siblings, so my parents will have a hard time paying for college. My parents adopted me and gave me a second chance at life, and I want to use the gifts God gave me to run as long as I can for them. Preferably, I would like to go to school down south, I love it there so much, but I am open to any location. I�??m going to grind it out all the way until I get a scholarship. My desired goals are to become the best runner I can be without looking back 15 years from now and saying "Mike you had more athletic ability in you than you used". I want to be able to help a successful track organization be the best it can be.
