Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Auggie Gaudio and I am very passionate about learning, teamwork, my community, and running.

I set very high goals for myself and the same is true for my collegiate career. My goals are graduating with honors, having a successful running career, and continuing to help others in need.

As a young runner, my team won the 2021 IESA State XC Championship where I finished 4th overall. That same year I placed 4th in the IESA State 1600m Track Championship. I hope to continue my early successes with my high school career and on into college.

I believe my leadership, dedication, teamwork, and integrity sets me apart from others.

Gabe is the 2021 DIII National Champion and has worked with Auggie on and off the course for over three years. He has developed Auggie mentally and physically to succeed as a runner and person. Here is a note from Coach Pommier: Coaching Augustus Gaudio has been nothing short of memorable. His dedication to the sport has grown significantly over the years as he continues to increase his training year after year, setting no limits. Auggie is the type of athlete that will strive to be the best that he can be; not only as a runner, but as a friend, student, teammate, and a human being. The growth I have seen in Auggie over the years not only reflects in his training, but how he carries himself at meets and how he approaches raceday mentally. Auggie has become consistent with his performances and has maintained his competitive mindset. As a freshman, Auggie was forced to step up as a leader on his team despite his experience. Given this task, Auggie has advanced by building a team around himself. Auggie has been a coach's dream and he is likely to impact any program that he becomes a part of.
