My name is Luke Amen and I am a rising senior at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook Illinois. I would like to be afforded the opportunity to attend a top academic institution and participate in a sport that I truly love; track and field.
Throughout my schooling l have played basketball, football, and ran track and field each year. I have been a captain on both the basketball and track teams, and have started on the varsity football and basketball teams my junior year, but after participating in the Illinois State Track Meet in May 2016 and running a 50.01 400 time, I have come to enjoy track and field the most and want to run in the future.
In school I am a part of a program called the Academy of International Studies, have a 5.0 GPA, have taken a rigorous academic course, and scored a 35 on my ACT. Through my schooling I have taken four AP courses and received a 5 on all four; those four tests were AP BC Calculus, AP US History, AP World History, and AP English Literature and Language.
I hope to attend an academic institution that would challenge my intellectual capability both in and out of the classroom. I am looking forward to studying at a place that will shape me into a better student and a better person. This can be achieved both in the classroom and by participating in track and field.
