Hello my name is Blake, a 2025 grad from Australia and specialise in both the 100m / 200m events.
Winning the U15yr Australian national 200m title and then finding out on the back of my most recent PB's, while still in grade 8 that I was ranked #2 for 100m and #5 for 200m in the world for my age at year end of 2021, have been the highlights of my athletics career to date. I think that these performances were in part due to Covid hitting in 2020, it was a difficult year with many of the local athletic competitions cancelled or postponed. As a student having to home school for a period of time and as an athlete unable to train with a squad, I had to learn to take more responsibility for my own training and study requirements on a day-to-day basis. I was also very fortunate that I had a fantastic coach who was willing to help me keep training via video. Which in turn allowed me to gain a much greater understanding of my own technique, as well as being able to improve different areas and phases of my running.
I have captained both my local and regional football teams. As well as captaining the junior state track and field team. I have also received numerous club, league, school and regional sporting awards for excellence and good sportsmanship in various sports. This has given me the benefit of understanding the commitment and obligations it takes to be a part of a team, I am also aware of the sacrifices and requirements it takes to be leader of a team. I feel that academically I have the character and self-motivation to be able to thrive within the campus environment, while athletically I know that I have the drive, passion and work ethic to run competitively at the highest possible collegiate levels.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I hope to hear from you in the near future.
