“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No Excuses.” – Kobe Bryant
My name is Lamarr Williams and I am from the beautiful island of Moore’s Island Abaco, Bahamas. I am currently seventeen years old and I’m a twelfth-grade student at Sunland Baptist Academy. I have multiple hobbies and they include: competing in sports like basketball and track and field , gym training, reading, and most of all traveling the world exploring new adventures.
I believe that my strong work ethic and ambition will propel me to the next level in my journey of being a student athlete, allowing me to reach my biggest goals. I’m very goal oriented, however, I’m very dedicated when it comes to school and sports, and I push myself every step I take. I will represent my school with honor and pride as I accomplish every goal I set for myself.
I currently have a 3.20 GPA cumulative, and nothing less than a C. Being that I am very detail oriented, this aid in helping me to sharpen my techniques and execute to the best of my abilities. My goals for this school year are to strive for a high GPA, to be a part of 1st Class Honour Roll. Graduating will be a big thing for me because where I’m from most of the male students would drop out of school and work. I know a lot of young kids look up to me too so I have to strive to be a good role model and do the best I can in and out of school.
“If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.” – Nora Roberts
What a person plans on doing after high school is important on how they want their life to be set up. Being that I am going to be the first out of my siblings to attend college and that I’m the youngest motivates me more and more to be the best I can possibly be. In attending a college or university I would love to pursue a career in the Electrical Engineering field. One day I wish to have my own business and be my own boss also. But my main goal is to succeed in the sport of track and field and become a professional athlete either playing or participating at the highest level of competition in the sport.
