Matias Vasquez '22 Recruiting Profile

I am Freddy Matías Vásquez from Cuenca, Ecuador

I’ve been running and competing on the Track & Field National stage since I was 11 years old.

At the end of school, I was awarded as the best athlete, that award motivated me to continue striving to reach my goals

I have represented my school, my state ,and my country in several local, national and international championships where I have had great results.

I’ve competed in two internationals events a South American Junior Championship where I get a 5th place in 400 meters and in a World u20 Championship in Nairobi, Kenia where me and my team get a 9th place in the 4x400 mixed relay doing a National Record.

During the last 3 years I have obtained scholarships from my school in recognition of my sports results.

I am sure that USA is my destination, because its universities offer great support to athletes helping them to continue raising their level and to improve my records more and more; academically they have a haritage of excellence, and I am interesting  to get knowledge to be a professional. That undoubtedly contributes to become potential people for society.

I have big dreams within sports, something that has characterized me is my desire to always continue improving and pushing myself to be better, I have always fought for what I want to achieve and I put all my effort into being able to get it...
