I started running track and field in September of 2017. Since then, me and my twin brother have a coach who comes once a month at best and for the rest, we train together. I like to use three words to describe my character in athletics and in life. Those three words are drive, determination and perseverance. In my first track meet ever I got 11.01 seconds on my 100 meter which I was satisfied with. 2 months later, I had another track meet in Uganda which I had not trained for due to an injury on my groin. I got 11.12 seconds on the 100 meter and 22.53 seconds on the 200 meter and needless to say, I was disappointed. Within the next 3 weeks I trained relentlessly and managed to cut it down to 10.70 in the Kenyan U20 track meet making me the fastest U20 runner in all of Kenya for 2018. I proceeded to run in the national championships of Uganda 3 weeks later and finished with a time of 10.76 seconds making me the 4th fastest man(overall ages) in Uganda. I believe that my first season of track and field was a very successful one. I would say that my work ethic and character makes me a good candidate for college track and field. I also think that my commitment level of training on a grass field in a school that does not provide track and field, without a coach for most of the season sets me apart from other recruits. Besides athletics which takes up much of my time, I work hard to try and keep my grades up as well. My goal is to become Uganda's fastest sprinter ever.
