I remember the first time I ever competed in a track meet; the first time I step on the blocks I felt a place of belonging that I haven’t felt that often. I never felt that feeling about any other sport but track, which made me want to focus on it and never want to quit. Even though I must deal with the long hours at a meet watching my hard work pay off makes it worth it. I also love how track causes me to stay locked in and discipline myself to put the work I need to on and off the track, making sure my bodies in its best shape for me to PR. The work is rigorous and tiring but seeing yourself grow to where u want to be is the best feeling ever. I work hard to get what I want, if I have a goal in mind, I won’t let nobody stop me from accomplishing my goals. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” As long as I know that I got God on my side then I know everything will be alright.
