Personal Statement
To say that running has become a big part of my life would be an understatement. Over the last three years, I have not only run daily, but have had the pleasure of doing so for Clarksburg’s cross-country and track programs. Under my coach’s tutelage, I have come a long way from my humble beginnings. What was once a 21 minute 5k, has turned into a 17 minute. The list, which includes a 4:43 1600 and a 2:06 800, goes on and on. While the personal record times are accomplishments I am quite proud of, they do not do justice in summing up why running means so much to me. Within my time spent running both cross-country and track I have made closer friends than I could have ever anticipated making. Ultimately, running has brought me athletic success. However, and perhaps more importantly, it has made me a happier person. Moving forward, running at the collegiate level remains an interest I would like to pursue. For any school interested in what I have to offer, I can assure you that you would be recruiting a hard worker both in the classroom and on the
course/track.
