I started my high school athletic career as a baseball player. My coaches and teammates soon helped me realize that what set me apart on the baseball field was my natural speed. In my freshman year, I joined indoor track as a way to stay fit between seasons, and I have not looked back since. My sophomore year, my track coach (along with some of my old teammates) convinced me to pursue track as my main sport and to quit baseball. My track teammates and coaches have made this transition easy and have helped me improve on the talent that emerged through my previous sports. Since this transition, I have qualified for regional championships every year and qualified for states twice. I was anchor leg for a state-championship winning 4x200m relay team, and was regional champion in the 55m with a time of 6.7 in 2022.
Off of the track, I have been the president of my school’s branch of Key Club for two years, and also am a part of National Honor Society. I maintain perfect grades in all of my classes and lifeguard and landscape for my community during the summer. I am also a National Merit Finalist.
I am a strong performer in everything that I do, including athletics, academics, and extra-curricular activities. I would like to continue on this same trajectory moving into my college years. An ideal college is one that will capitalize on my hard work and will help turn me into the best track athlete and student that I can possibly be.
