To whom ever this may concern, my names is Erick Sanchez and here is my story of how track has transformed me into a better individual. I never knew i was good at running or anything subject in particular until the end of sophomore year. I used to be an average student with a 3.75 GPA and I even struggled simply to break 6 minutes on my mile ( freshman year pr of 5:55.)However this would all change the summer after freshman year. I became determined to improve myself as an individual and it started with summer track training despite other individuals telling me i couldn't achieve anything in track for i was not tall enough (5' 4") or in shape (124 lbs). This did not stop me from striving to achieve my goal even while playing soccer for my high school and soon I would progressively improve my time and had a massive pr from 5:55 to a 5:01 in the mile during my first indoor season. However I've improved a lot and ran a 4:44 mile at my state meet at the end of my sophomore year along with maintaining a 4.5 GPA and completing for my club soccer team. I am totally committed and prepared to run at a collage level and the burdensome and responsibly of running at elite levels do an will not phase in the future; in fact i have stopped paying high school soccer to focus on cross country and improving my times. I am always interested in improving the team as a whole and i have received multiple sportsmanship awards for my active support and motivation i provide for all my teammates whether they are good or not. I also exceed expectation outside of the track and deliberately take time to maintain my grades at a high standard, personally train my brother, and evade causing any predicaments that will degrade my clean record. Overall coaches I will push myself to my limits with every stride I take and motivate any teammates to do the same, as well as committing myself to not only improve myself on the track but also as a prominent individual outside of the track.
