Hello Coaches,
My name is Lorenzo Lewis, graduating class of 2026. I run track, play football, and I am the Captain of both teams this coming school year. I began each of these sports as a freshman, as I took part in competitive gymnastics through grade school, finishing in level 7 with multiple state championships and a regional championship.
I chose to attend Wahconah Regional High School, located about an hour from where I grew up, because the high school in my town did not offer AP and Honors classes and I knew I would want to continue on the same academic track as grade school. I attended the Berkshire Waldorf School for the 10 years before entering high school. I credit my mother for taking an atypical route in my education. I spent the earliest grades of my life with a curriculum focused on developing character and competence. This was evident when I entered high school, and in the first month was given the "Breath of Fresh Air" award by my teachers. I am proud of the impact I have made at my school and in both of my communities. Being chosen by my teammates as Captain of two sports, not having grown up in the town, a sports town, meant the world to me.
I plan to study engineering in college and to continue my track career at the next level. I finished my junior year strong as the Western MA Champion 400M, Berkshire County Champion 400M, 1st Team All State, All Western MA, All Berkshire County, D6 MA State 3rd Place 400M and 5th Place 200M, and competed in the State and NE Meet of Champions.
My general work ethic spills over from the classroom (97.3 GPA with heavy AP and Honors classes) to the sports field, pulling my teammates through each practice drill or repetition. I approach every homework assignment, test, practice, or competition the same. I will not be defeated by being outworked.
Thank you and I look forward to speaking with you!
Best Regards,
Lorenzo Lewis
