Joined local Nitehawks track club after middle school graduation, (in order to register for the USATF Junior Olympic series of meets) after winning 1st place in the Massachusetts Middle School State Championships at the end of 8th grade, June 2011. Continued to win and qualify at the USATF New England, then Region 1 USA, then qualified for the Nat'l Junior Olympic Championship in Kansas (all without a coach)
