I have always been considered a leader on my high school track and cross country teams because of my competitive experience and my work ethic during the season and in the off-season. I trained with WAZA track club and competed in AAU and USATF regional and national competitions during the time I was 8-14 years old (400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, javelin, and cross country). Once in high school, I was the alternate for our Division 1, state championship qualifying cross country team and have run in the top ten on that team for my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Although, my junior year outdoor track season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, I did compete with club track teams for the 2018, 2019, and 2020 indoor track seasons in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, DMR relay, and 4x800m relay. I have grown a lot physically and mentally during my junior year. I feel my leadership position as a varsity-level athlete, my pursuit of private coaching to better my skills, how I dedicate myself in the off-season, and my strong academic performance in the classroom are the reasons I’ve become a respected teammate and someone any of our runners can depend on. I am interested in majoring in medical physics, bioinformatics, or other pre-medicine field to prepare me for medical school and a career in radiology.
