Hello Coaches,
My name is Aidan Leslie. I am a Senior at Anchor Bay H.S. with 4 years on the Varsity XC and Track teams. I am a key part of the part of the 2024 Distance squad that has helped put Anchor Bay running on the map. Winning our school’s first ever MAC Red Division Championship and County Championship as a Sophomore has been the highlight of my career thus far. I feel I have grown the most after our DMR team raced at the New Balance Boston Nationals event this past winter. It was a humbling experience to recognize the degree of talent at the national level and the continued effort needed to compete at that level. My work ethic, attitude, with a bit of swagger is what helps separates my teammates and I from the rest of the pack.
The last 3 seasons have been a tremendous learning experience as I continue to grow as a student-athlete and as a leader. I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a three-sport athlete across XC, indoor track, and outdoor track, and captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
Upon entering my Senior year this fall, my goals are to continue the academic success in the class room and reach the Michigan State Finals for XC this Fall, both individually and as a team. For indoor track, we will be looking to pick back up where we left off with from our DMR team in Boston in 2023 and continue to progress on times across the 4X800, 1600m, 800m, 3200m and DMR. Finally, before graduation, we will be looking to have one of the best track programs in Anchor Bay's history in hopes to win our league, regional, and county meets and qualify for States. For college plans, hope to narrow my choices of schools down over the Summer/Fall time frame, with a focus in either the Business or Engineering fields while continuing to grow and mature my running career at the next level. Longer term, I look forward to graduating with a degree in my field of choice and entering the work force.
