Being part of a Conference Championship in my Freshman Cross Country season has been the highlight of my sports career so far. But more important than that is the positive impact sports has had on me throughout high school. I moved in to my school district just before my Freshman year, and being a part of varsity athletics enabled me to adapt to a new environment quickly. Equally as important, high school athletics has taught me the importance of academics. That individual growth drives me to succeed and work hard towards competing in Track and Field at the college level.
My greatest inspiration comes from my family. They are very supportive of me in both my academics and athletics. Perhaps the most influential person even within my family is my 9-year old brother, who has Cerebral Palsy. His constant motivation and determination to overcome his disability inspires me to work hard every day, on and off the field. Through him I have seen how to overcome challenges. I am looking to become a part of a program that will help me continue to grow both academically and athletically; a program that will not only push me to compete at the highest level possible, but also prepare me for life beyond athletics. As a two-sport runner and all conference athlete, I can see myself as an impact member of your team.
