My sophomore year of cross country was the worst, but I'm glad it happened. I had run slower then my freshman year but this is what propelled me to do better. I began to formulate a plan after the season ended to run everyday during the winter to get better for track, and that's exactly what I did. No matter the weather, temperature, or even if I felt like running, I was outside on the trails everyday for an entire winter, and I began to see improvement. I cut 40 seconds off my mile that track season, and I was not finished yet. I ran even more over the summer and cut my 5k time down by 2 minutes and 21 seconds. dedication and commitment is what made me a good runner, and dedication and commitment is whats going to make me a better runner in the future.
This past year I have dedicated myself to the sport of running and the benefits I have gained aren't just in time. I gained many leadership qualities, as well as better integrity, perseverance, self control, and humility. This past year has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my life and I truly believe these new found qualities are what sets me apart from the other athletes. I have dreams of running collegiality, and I hope to continue my story by running with your team.
