2024 Spotlight #2
2024 SpotlightEver since I started throwing 8th grade year, throwing has been my passion. I spend all year waiting for track season. I recently started realizing that I could potentially go to college for track, and I have been putting in a lot of work and practice in order to achieve this goal. I look forward for the rest of my throwing career. My 8th grade year I threw just short of 40 feet for shot put. My freshman year I had an ok season, I threw 43’ 7.5“ for shot and 88‘ 2” for discus. Going into my sophomore year I threw 43 indoor, then when I got to out door, I had a break-out season. I won regionals and the county championship meet for shot put, and also placed 4th at states for shot put. My discus improved to 122 feet. My junior indoor season I started throwing weight and qualified for nationals for shot put and weight throw. I threw 63’ 1“ for weight throw during the season, and at indoor nationals I threw 55’ 8” for shot put. During my junior outdoor season, my shot put PR improved to 59’10” and my discus improved to 140’7”. For shot put, I won conferences, regionals, and the county championship meet. Along with that, I was the runner up at the division 2 state finals for shot put.
