My collegiate goal is to make sure that I push myself, and push my teammates. Winning is definitely on my mind, but making myself become a better athlete and a better person is far more important. What makes me a good candidate, is that I will always give it my 110%, and will always strive to strengthen myself on and off the track. I started track my freshman year, and instantly fell in love with it. I started with sprints, but knew that sprints were not my strong suit. After some friends had joked about me doing the hurdles, I had done them as a joke purely to prove my friends wrong. After doing the hurdles, my coach had saw me and instantly stopped me to tell me that I will be doing the hurdles next meet. After that meet, I fell in love. I have been growing as a track athlete and expanding my love for track ever since. As a shorter hurdler, I bring a little questioning to the table whether or not I will execute well. With the past few seasons, I personally feel like I have been proving myself, and showing track athletes that you do not always need to be tall to succeed in the event. I also long and triple jump, pole vault, and run the 400 and the 800. As for academics, I tend to struggle in school, but always find ways to manage everything with my life outside of school and sports. I Maintain a 3.0 GPA and find ways to involve myself within the school and the community. I am currently in student council, FCCLA, WEact, along with dance, wrestling, and football. What makes me different from other recruits in character is that I am extremely outgoing, kind, and easy to get along with.
