I started throwing freshman year after a friend asked me to join, as a secondary sport during wrestling offseason...and then I fell in love with the sport. The thought of now throwing on a competitive level, after high school, is simply not a projection I like to entertain.
Before I started track and field I wrestled from 7'th grade to sophomore year and throughout those years, I learned how to apply mental strength and physical drive to training and studying. These capabilities have helped me advance my throwing skills since I joined track and field later than most high school athletes.
In the couple of years I have been practicing my technique I have increased my throw from my freshman PR of 69 feet to my official PR of 93' 1.5'', and unofficial PR of 102 feet.
I have been told I can pick things up very quickly and I am easily coachable compared to others. I and my family have always had the mindset of academics over athletics which I believe has helped me learn to control my priorities both in life and in throwing. I would love to be able to continue throwing on a competitive level during my college career and even later in life.
