I have set my sights on two goals for my college career. Run track at a very high and competitive level, and earn a college degree. Through being a three-sport athlete and academic honors student, I understand the importance of teamwork, time management, and overcoming obstacles to achieve my goals. After winning the Nebraska Junior High State Championship in the 200m hurdles, I failed to qualify for the NSAA State Track & Field Championships by 0.02 my freshman year. I was determined to qualify my sophomore year, so I trained harder than I ever have and qualified in the 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and the 400m relay. After continuing to train and lift all year, I came back my Junior season and repeated as the conference champion in the 110m Hurdles, won the conference and district championship in the 300m hurdles, and earned 2nd place in the 110m hurdles at the district meet. I went on to win the NSAA Class B State Championship in the 110m hurdles and earn 4th place in the 300m hurdles.
I apply the same mindset, hardwork, and determination where I want to make an impact on your college track and field program. I believe I possess the character, leadership skills, and talent to be successful at the collegiate level, not only on the track, but in the classroom.
