I have always been an active kid. I enjoy swimming, baseball, wake-surfing, motorcycles and most outdoor activities. I started pole-vaulting as a Freshman and learned a lot from the upperclassmen that taught me. My personal best that year was 10 feet at our district meet. My Sophomore year I started training with a pole vault coach at The Trackville in Lincoln, Nebraska. This year I went from starting the season at 10’ to a personal best of 12’2” and a first place finish that qualified me for the state competition. My season was short because of bad weather but I am looking forward to learning more during the off season and flying higher as I improve my skills.
My education is equally important. I am an honor roll student, member of the National Honor Society and take honors and dual-credit classes. I enjoy being a student athlete and would welcome the challenge of continuing through college. I have learned leadership skills and discipline from balancing my academic and sports schedules. I aspire to study mechanical engineering and am looking for a university that challenges me academically and athletically.
