My name is Zachary Cader and I'm a junior at Beacon High School in Beacon, NY. My family has supported me with everything I do and been my number one fans. They push me to be the best I can be and have influenced my success on and off the track.
I started off as a competitive soccer player. I loved soccer and wanted to play it at the collegiate level. That was until I hit varsity soccer. I started on the Varsity team as a freshman, but as the season progressed I realized that I had lost my love for soccer. I went to college camps and just did not have fun. I had run track in middle school and decided to run varsity track in the spring of my freshman year, I loved it! That's when everything changed for me, I had found my new passion. I quit soccer and 100% committed to running. I did xc for the first time ever in sophomore year and I had fun with my team and running in general. I have decided to concentrate on running and aspire to go to the collegiate level with it.
I have learned how to challenge myself with track. Last year I had a person who was the same speed so I could do workouts with them. This year I have had the challenge of learning how to push myself as hard as I could without anyone. I have also learned how to be self motivated because I always want to do the best I can.
My academic goals for high school is to average at least a 95 for senior year. Apply myself to studies and learn as much as I can. I am confident that doing this will best prepare me for success as a collegiate student athlete. For college my academic goals are to excel in the classroom and to get the best education possible to prepare me for future success.
I am a team player, I will do anything to support my coach and team members. I am motivated to personally get better every day but willing to train and support my team members so that they can also develop. I have worked really hard this season to be able to work under pressure and be confident when I do it.
