When I first moved to the district from Brooklyn, New York my family's main purpose in my life & the reason for moving was to give me a better opportunity to be successful in life. I was quite a shy person not really being open to new ideas and new activities around so me being the new kid I followed my friends into local sports such as 'football', 'basketball', 'karate', and 'baseball'. Football was my first sport that I learned to enjoy and was my main sport that I advanced more in compared to the other sports that I played. Entering high school I was determined to play Varsity Football so I took extra precaution into making my body right, as in eating healthy, and working out and putting 100% in practices. Little did I know it took more than just school-practice to advance in any sport. I decided to take on Track & Field in hopes that it will make me faster and stronger for the next football season which it did, but my freshman year I was solely only doing Track for football nothing else. Sophomore year comes around and I notice I am a lot faster than a lot of the other people on my team, I slowly start to think Track was the way to go, since I have a smaller build than the rest. I excel and i'm advancing my times in Track and Field and decide I am going to stick with the sport throughout high school and focus on it, doing that I ended football so I can pursue my entire focus onto Track. Throughout my unfinished high school career I have noticed that my patience has gotten a lot better with a lot of situations, and now I know the importance of discipline in what I do, and to look at everything in a different/greater purpose. If I have a bad race/meet I use that as a learning experience to propel myself forward just like in life. My academic goals for high school is to maintain or get above 3.5 GPA and College reaching for a 4.0 also to be awarded more student-athlete awards. The obstacles that I overcame in my career is patience, somethings are not "guaranteed" or something doesn't work out I would have to be stronger to catch back up and pass what ever is in-front of me, Being anchor of both of my relays really influenced my mindset as in sometimes I will be in front sometimes I will be behind but I will have to keep pushing forward. Characteristics that describe me are dedicated, helpful and optimistic.
