My name is Michael O'Leary and I attend St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, New York. I always have had a passion for running but did it more recreational than on a competitive level. After running high school spring track in my sophomore year, I had been told that my running times were that of some athletes who have been running for years. With hard work, I knew that I could be running with the best runners not only in Long Island and New York, but in the nation. I am proving this with every meet I compete in as my times are improving with each race. I recently attained my PR in the 800 meters (1:58) at the Yale Invitational on January 17-18, 2014 with my DMR team taking first place in the competition, and currently have the U.S. #2 time. My academic profile is strong with a 3.3 GPA average with honors courses included in my workload. I challenge myself in the classroom as well as on the track and continue to strive for the best. I look forward to my pursuit to run in college and I will continue to work to be one of top runners in the country.
