Johan Arrillaga '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Johan Arrillaga, and I am currently a Junior at Islip Highschool, where I have balanced a rigorous academic schedule with my passion for Track. From an early age, I have been driven by a deep love for both learning and athletics. This dedication has shaped me into a disciplined, hardworking individual, both on the field and in the classroom. In the classroom, I have always been drawn to Sciences and history, excelling in courses such as AP European History and Chemistry. I am proud to have maintained a GPA of 3.72, which reflects my commitment to academic excellence. Through my participation in my schools National Honors society, English National Honors Society, many AP and honors classes(AP EURO, AP SEMINAR, AP US HISTORY, AP SCIENCE RESEARCH, AP LANGUAGE AND COMP, and AP BIOLOGY), I have learned the importance of curiosity and perseverance. My academic journey has been challenging at times, but I have consistently risen to meet these challenges by developing strong time management skills and a resilient mindset. On the field, I have been fortunate to play Track at a competitive level for 2 years. As a sprinter for Islip Highschool, I have developed a strong sense of teamwork, leadership, and determination. Some of my proudest moments include Coach spirit award and 2 time New York State Scholar Athlete. Balancing athletics with academics has helped me refine my time management and organizational skills, and I believe these qualities will allow me to contribute positively to your program. I am eager to continue my athletic journey at the collegiate level and believe that I will thrive through the perfect combination of strong academics and a competitive athletic programs. I am excited by the opportunity to grow as a student-athlete in college while trying to pursuing a degree in the medical field.
