I have been competing in track and field since the 7th grade. It has always been one of my favorite activities. I have experience in many events such as the 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 600m, 800m long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, and relays. My favorite event is the 800. Last summer I became very dedicated to my improvement. I changed my diet, created a weight lifting plan, attended a track and field camp at Penn State, and trained with the cross country team. The diet and weights will improve my overall health and strength so I can become a better athlete. Cross country was very beneficial to me. I am gained leg and core strength that will help bring down my times. This winter season I began running the 800 and have found good success. I believe that I can bring my time down significantly by the end of the spring season. I am 110% committed to track and field and with more training and coaching I am confident that I can grow to become a valuable member of a collegiate team.
Outside of track, I take multiple honors level and AP classes. I enjoy the challenges these classes offer. I also participate in Boy Scouts. I have recently completed my Eagle Scout project and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. My project was an outdoor classroom at my local elementary school. It allows the students to get outside and learn. Scouting has taught me how to be a leader, how to set high goals, and how to achieve them. These lessons have helped me become a better person. These lessons carried over into my running. I am very excited for my future in college, and track and field.
