On the middle school track team I found my calling in the sprints. I ran 12.5 and 12.0 hand time in the 100m in seventh and eighth grade respectively. Entering high school I began to focus on the idea of running at a highly competitive level. I worked very hard over the Summer of 2016 to improve my 55m time from a 7.06 to a 6.78. In the Winter of 2016, my mother passed away and I decided to make her my reason to run, which contributed to my 6.78. I have not used blocks in the Winter Season, meaning my 6.78 in the 55m was without a block start. My acceleration surpasses that of many others and that is evident in my placing 13th in the 55m at the New York Section 1 State Qualifier as only a sophomore. While many athletes will play other sports and focus on them more than track, I have decided to stop playing soccer so I can focus on my own training during the off season, potentially with a private coach. I am highly skilled in blind handoffs and have been competing as the first or second leg of my school's 4x100m relay for all of my high school years.
Despite being an excellent athlete, I am extremely devoted to my academics. I take AP and Honors classes and perform well throughout all subjects. I have been able to manage all of my work and athletics with time to spare to join clubs and honor societies.
