Sam Sharlow '19 Recruiting Profile

I have loved running for as long as I can remember.  I live on a quarter mile circle, and would beg my mom to let me run it and have her time me since I was 3.  At 4 years old, I told my mom I wanted to run cross-country in college.   At 6 I became a member of the Utica Roadrunners, and competed each week that summer. I got my first taste of standing on the podium at a regional Hershey Track competition when I was 9.  In 7th grade I joined cross-country at Oriskany Jr/Sr High School.  That spring I ran varsity track.  Our team qualified for states.  I have trained at the Olympic Training Facility in Lake Placid with High Peaks Elite Distance Training Camp in 2016 and 2017.  I will return this summer.  I ran my first steeplechase  in the spring of 2017. I qualified for state quals with that run.  I took 6th place in Division II at states in the steeplechase.

I love to run.  I love to train. I love to compete. I love to win. I have always dreamed of participating in cross-country and track on the college level. Be part of that reality.
