I started running in 9th grade and I learned that the more successful I was, the harder I wanted to work. The high point of my running career so far was in cross country my sophomore year when my team won the Suffolk county championship and advanced to the New York State Championship. It was our goal from the beginning of the summer and and worked the whole season to achieve it. In the summer before my junior year, I experienced an injury in the cartilage of my knee that required surgery, causing me to miss the cross country season. However, I stayed focused on my recovery and took the winter season to get back into my training and was able to return to where I left off as a sophomore by the beginning of the spring season, and look to improve myself more from here.
My athletic goals for high school are to continue to improve my 1600m and 3200m times every season, qualify for states as many times as possible and make all state in cross country. My high school academic goals are to continue to push myself by taking difficult classes and raise my overall GPA. I hope to devote myself to studying in college with as much dedication as I have with my athletics.
