I feel I was born to do something extraordinary in my life, especially for those people who are less fortunate. Although it is not advertised enough, many professional athletics do a lot of good in the community. For example, when I read about how Josh Norman and Demario Davis donated the items to give to the immigrant children who were released from detention centers after being separated from their families, I was really inspired. I realized how much more I would be able to do as an athlete that I would not be able to do as just a student. I care deeply about others and work my best on and off the field to improve the lives of others. Whether it’s encouraging my teammate to push a little hard (and showing them I am pushing myself) or working on the foundation I co-founded a few years ago collecting books at low-income youth, I am motivated to help others. I strongly believe being a collegiate student athlete will allow me to continue to see beyond myself and think about my team, my college, and my community!
