David Miles '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is David Miles Jr.  I am a very  athletic   individual.  I started playing sports at a very young age.  I have played on several basketball, baseball and football recreation teams.  During middle school I  played basketball and tennis.  I am a dependable and coachable athlete.  All of my coaches say that I listen and do what is asked of me.  I am a quiet individual that plays team ball.  I do not feel, I need to showboat or be a ballhog to be recognized.  I believe my demeanor and talent will speak for itself.  I started running track as a ninth grader at Williams High School. 

I excel in the classroom both academically and in character.  I have always made above average grades in school.  I believe it is essential to be in class to learn.  I am one of four individuals in a class of 300 students to receive perfect attendance for three consecutive years.  

As a junior at Williams High School, I am currently playing basketball and running indoor and outdoor track.  I have participated in outdoor track for the past two years.   It is my new love! My times have improved each year.  During the outdoor season I participate in the 200m, 400m, 4X200 relay (third leg) and 4X400 relay (anchor leg).  This will be my first year competing in indoor track.  I am excited about running the 300m, 500m and 4X200 relay.  Last summer I ran with the Durham Striders Track Club.  It was an amazing experience.   I have not decided which college I would like to attend however I am leaning towards studying to become an engineer.
