My junior year was my first year participating in track. In this year I was able to throw 53ft 6.25 in and placed 9th at the state championship. Over the season
i fell in love with the sport and have decided to not play football my senior year to focus on shot put and discus. Last season I was a glider in shot put but I have been transitioning to the spin.
I also won the Ohio High School State Championship in powerlifting in the 250 lb wight class during my junior year. My current PR'S are a 740 lb squat, 360 lb bench, and 550 lb deadlift. My powerlifting coach is Larry Pacifico and he has also been helping me in shot put. Larry was a 9 time powerlifting world champion and state champion shot putter in New York. His son, Jimmy, was a state and national champion in shot put with a PR of 71ft. The 2 of them have been coaching me with my spin progression in the offseason. I plan on competing in indoor track meets this upcoming season and hitting some much bigger throws. I believe I can throw well over 60ft in the shot put next season with the progression of my spin technique.
