I'm working to improve as a better athlete for me and my future team. My coaches throughout my athletic career have stated that I have a lot of potential when I am older and that I am a good/fast learner. They've also said that my block start is one of the best they have seen in a while and that it will take me places. I also love when I get some feedback on my performance so I can have an idea on what to improve on.\
My academics during this season are going great at the moment with me maintaining all A's and B's with all of these sports and activities and I am actively doing. I am also currently researching a lot about Sports medicine for my college and career pathway because it is a fun and interesting pathway and I also like helping people.
During my current season I started off bad with a really bad quad pull. After the quad pull I put in many hours in physical therapy and became healthy again month later. I then teached myself block started and keeping a good form in my events without a sprint coach. After all of the work I started the season of with a 13.03 100m, near the end of the season I had ran a 12.43. So, no matter what I'm always trying to put in the hard work.
I've always enjoyed studying the art of block work, sprinting, and maintaining your pace. So when I have the chance out at the track I am consistently putting in hard work correcting all of the steps to running a good 100m, 200m, etc. Despite not having a sprinting coach, I did much research online to see what I was able to do for some improvement and signs of me getting better at the sport. I was also helped by a couple seniors (Michael Ellis and Alyksander Ludowicks) at my school to improve in block starts and running a good 200m and when I took their advice and what they said I started hitting pr's more and more as I continued the season. I then qualified for a varsity meet at Willsonville and placed 1st in the 4x1 and 5th in my 100m, but sadly I felt a pull coming in my quad and later scratched my 200m to save my self for the conference meet.
After all I have went through and experienced this season, I now know what I have to work on in this off season, how I can improve, and what I can do to be better in general as a student athlete. I will also be putting in mind that next year is where I can change everything and have much more improvement from now until the season starts and achieve better times.
