Nicholas King '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a highly motivated, high-achieving student-athlete at Pine-Richland High school out of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania specializing in middle distance. I am a great competitor in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (PIAA Section VII).  The exciting thing about myself is that my personal potential doesn't end at my promising athletic performances. Being highly academically driven taking mostly all AP and honors classes, as well as being involved in a plethora of extracurricular activities such as volunteering in my community as an Eagle Scout in the boy scouts of America and being musically inclined as the Captain of the Pine-Richland Highschool Drumline, it is irrefutably discernable that I excel at mostly everything I dedicate my time towards. This is because time is finite, and I commit my full ability, and a little more, to never take the time I spend in these chosen areas of passions for granted. This is certainly where I stand out as an athlete, as my cognition and awareness for the amount of finite time I have and the infinite potential I have within that time allows my motivated work ethic to illuminate in everything I do from school, and to my community, which all transfers to my athletic passion within this sport. I am, quite honestly obsessed with bettering  myself in every way, every day. In personal opinion, an athlete who recognizes their potential and is infatuated with the growth that can become from hard work to fulfill that potential is much more meaningful than any athlete who relies on pure talent with a time-based initiative.  My desire to better myself constantly on and off the track has allowed me to enhance my work ethic and leadership skills, which is most likely the reason behind my election as the only junior captain out of three senior captain positions, as well as the attainmentship of varsity awards in both track and cross country from freshman year to the present. I hope to continue to grow not only as an athlete but as a person and to give diversity to your campus through the array of activities I am involved in, my impressive athletic and academic performances, as well as my burning desire to improve as a person.
