All I know is work. Growing up under working class parents in Coatesville Pennsylvania, I witnessed what hard work awards. The son of a wise father, I was taught the in and outs on how to ignore talents and excel academically and athletically through hard work...
Trust the Process is a statement I value greatly. My first season on the track team at Great Valley in 2018, both myself and the sprints coach didn’t see much value in me which lead to poor performances. However, the following season, we got a new sprints coach who was a 400m state champ and a very tough oriented man. In the beginning of the season he did not see much of value in me which outraged me. From that day forward at practice I worked harder then I ever have throwing up multiple times over several practices. A little throw up didn’t stop me, I got right back on my feet and started grinding, working hard with our top 3 sprinters on the team. Rapidly, in practice I was equally performing with our top sprinters on the team and our sprints coach noticed this effort straight away. I was working every day after practice and on the weekends I was steadily and quickly grinding. I still wasn’t satisfied with my performance at practice, I needed to show everyone what I had on meet days. My coach started putting me into all of the 4x400 relays and open 400s at the end of my sophomore season ( May 2019) where I had little time to show my worth. I made the most of that time by coming out with a 56.5 second 400m then cutting down to a 55.7m next meet to a 54.5 the following meet and then a 52.94 split in a 4x400. My distinct characteristics that separate me from other collegiate bound track candidates consist of my prosperous work ethic that continuously improves each season, willingness to challenge and push myself, adapt to hardships and sacrifices to succeed.
I am seeking the opportunity to challenge myself as both a student and an athlete through competing at the Division 1/2 level or at an academically strong Division 3 university. I am an athlete who is willing to walk on and train with the team to prove my worth. I have great faith in my high school coaches to continue developing me to hit whatever walk on times coaches provide me with... Please feel free to contact me with your programs walk on times for consideration for a roster spot...
Fall 2020 Update: Following a cancelled Junior Year outdoor season coming off a 53.99 400m Indoor season, I have been continuously putting in my 40 hours at work and out on the track building speed. Additionally, I joined the cross country team for my senior season where I plan on adding my versatility into the 800m. I ran my first 5k at our home course at Great Valley in an inter-squad meet where I ran 18:47.6 for 3rd (our top 6 guys didn't run in the 5k). Flash forward to the end of the 2020 XC season, my second ever recorded 1 mile race time had reached 4:58.3 verified by my coaches. I am working very close with my coaches to further enhance speed and endurance so I am fully prepared to propel in the 400/800/DMR/4x400 for the indoor season. Coaches, I am asking you to kindly evaluate my inexperience and willingness to develop as an athlete for consideration in your program. Thank you.
