****End of the season update 1600m- 4:31 800- 1:58****
My name is Harrison Greer and I am a junior at Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas and I am very interested in running cross country and track in college As way of background, I am the number one varsity runner on the Episcopal High School Cross Country team, and was awarded the school's cross country MVP this year. My best time this year in the 5K was 16:53, with numerous 3 mile races having a similar pace. At our school cross country conference championship this year, I earned All Conference honors. I just began my spring track season and everything seems to be going as planned. I have been in training for about 3-4 weeks now and everything is going pretty well (I did not run much during soccer season). At one of my first track meets I ran a 4:36 in the 1600m and a 2:01 in the 800m. Since I just started I am looking forward to a lot of improvement. My current season goals are to break the 4:30 mark in the 1600 and to run under 2 in the 800. Through hard work and smart training I believe these goals will be obtainable. While I have run cross-country throughout high school, my sophomore year was the first time in high school that I had participated in track (previously, I played lacrosse). Now that I am focusing on cross-country and track, I think that I have the potential for significant improvement in the coming years.
