Hi, my name is Noah Perez. I have been running since I was 7 years old, and have had a passion for running ever since. Following my sisters footsteps of running, I am very grateful that this was my chosen sport. This sport has taught me how to persevere, even when I feel like my legs can't go any further; put me in the mindset that I am able to do anything I put my mind to. I started out running for a club team in North Texas called, Frisco Heat. Since starting, I have had a dream of running NCAA cross country. Throughout junior high, I ran Track & Cross Country at Vandeventer Middle School, in Frisco, Texas. At the end of 8th grade, and the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, my family and I moved to Boerne Texas due to my mothers relocation of her job. Moving to Boerne was a huge adjustment for me. I learned I needed to embrace the change and I allowed myself to meet new people and keep an open mind. I am very fortunate to have ended up at Boerne- Champion High School. During my freshman season, I am blessed to have made varsity and been apart of our 2020 team state runner up. Moving forward from my freshman season, I trained year around in the offseason and fell short one place at our regional meet to advance to state, due to the weather conditions in Corpus Christi. During my junior year, and after the loss of more than half of our varsity team, taught me the lessons to stand up and be a leader. Apart from the fact many said we wouldn't make it out of districts with a young varsity team, we won our district, and placed 2nd at our regional meet. We continued onto state, and with close scores, we placed 7th as a team at state. I believe my role of adaptability, determination for the sport, and self- discipline will be assets that will help me take my running to the next level.
