Personal Statement
I've been a multi sport athlete; a team player and contributor for sure, but wasn't the star or standout athlete that we all hope to be until I tried out for track during my junior year after multiple concussions ended football for me.
In 2016, I competed in only 4 track meets, due to varsity basketball playoffs, but won the District Championship with a 6'0" jump. I've elected to not play basketball this year, so that I can get in a full track season and work on adding to my track resume. I've been in the weight room all off season preparing for this season.
We just competed in our first track meet this season, and I won first place, with a new PR of 6'4".
Over the summer, I trained with former Olympic Gold Medalist, Charles Austin, to work to improve my height. I'd love to compete at the college level in high jump- and am open to other events as well.
I would bring a positive, respectful, ready to be coached attitude to your team, and I'm someone that you wouldn't have to worry about grades with. I plan to study to become a federal law enforcement officer, so I'm looking for a college where I can study criminology, sociology and pyscology.
