I want to run track & field for a college that challenges me academically and athletically so that I can best improve myself. I’m incredibly self-motivated and I don’t hesitate to put in the hard work when it’s inconvenient. I originally found the sport through elementary school P.E. class where I won my first race. After chasing that feeling and striving to win again, I discovered my passion for running. Through track & field and cross country I have learned that being content doesn’t mean being comfortable. The times I am most content are when I feel the post training pains and soreness and I feel like I truly accomplished something. There have been many obstacles so far in my track & field journey and I expect that will have to overcome many more. The biggest obstacles have been the times when I was out with injuries that I couldn’t control. I had to struggle with the feeling that I wasn’t improving while my competitors were, however that feeling fueled me and my training for when I was healthy again.
