Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Samuel Enriquez, a 2025 McHi graduate. I have officially committed and signed to run track at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. Thank you to all the coaches that initiated scholarship opportunities for me to further my career. Special thanks to the coaches that invited me to visit your campuses and evaluated your programs. I am excited to continue my track career at the next level.

  • Sam qualified in the 100m, 200m & 400m. His varsity relay teams also qualified in the 4x200 & 4x400. Sam ran the 200m placing first hitting a personal best time of 21.63. Sam broke the Area Record of 21.76 held since 2014. Sam ran anchor leg for the 4x200 relay which placed 1st with a time of 1:28.51. Team broke the Area record of 1:28.67 set in 2013. Sam ran anchor leg in the 4x400 relay which placed 1st with a time of 3:16.96 setting a new McHi school record. They also set a new Area Record beating out the former time of 3:21.55 set in 2024. Next meet will be Regionals at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio, TX on April 18 & 19, 2025.

  • 31-5A District Track meet. 100m (10.57) winning 1st & setting a New District Record & New McHi School Record. 200m (22.21) to win District Champion & set a new 31-5A District Record. 400 m (49.28) to take 2nd place and qualify for the Area Meet next week in Harlingen, TX.

  • My Varsity Relay Team will be competing in the 4x200 m Relay and the 4x400 m Relay at the Texas Relays. We ran 3:17.46 in the 4x400. I ran a 47.38 400 m split.

  • 4x200 m Relay hit a 1:27.77 to set a new Meet of Champions Record, a New McHi School Record and a new Valley Record!! Let's go!! Placed 1st in 200m as well. Ahlman and Enriquez closed out the meet by running two outstanding legs of McAllen's winning 4x400m relay team that posted a time of 3:22.70. "
