As a 9 year old, my mom asked me what I think about when I run. My response was "I don't really know Mom. I just think about how good it feels to run!" While I still love how running makes me feel, I now think about much more than just the feeling. I think about how much more I can push myself. I think about how I can't wait for my younger brother to join my highschool team. I think about what doors running might open for me in the future. I think about my team and ways I can encourage them and how I can step up to be a leader. I think about tomorrow's history test and next week's race. I think about the dedication of my coach and parents. And I think about what's for dinner!
I think about college and what that will look like for me. I see college as an opportunity to become the kind of man who will make a difference in the world. I will grow personally and physically during college and I would love the opportunity to do that as part of a team.
Aside from running, I also compete on my highschool's varsity swim team. Both running and swimming take a lot of time, energy, and dedication, but I know nothing else. Competing in multiple sports has made me a well rounded athlete and student. Time management is a must!
I am the oldest of 4 boys (practically a built in team) and our personal conduct in and out of our home has always been important. I pledge to continue conducting myself with honor and respect because how I carry myself reflects my family and my team and my school. I want to represent well!
I am interested in all areas of science and math and hope to find a college path that will lead to a lifelong career that I am passionate about.
My family is very important to me and I will continue to strive to make them proud on the track, in the pool, in the classroom, and at home.
