My name is Shane Kang, and I am a Javelin thrower in the 2026 class. I attend Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, Washington, with a GPA of 3.99. My current PR in the javelin throw is 174 feet and 8 inches. In the 2024 USATF JO National Championships, I placed fourth with a throw of 161 feet and 3 inches. I touched my first javelin in March of 2024 and seriously started training for it in June. I am coached by former University of Washington Javelin thrower Denham Patricelli and his high school coach Keith Eager, who coached his son, Derek Eager (UCLA), to throw 230 feet in high school. Before discovering the javelin, I was a multi-sport athlete, heavily into powerlifting, holding nine all-time Washington State records. I have just begun this sport, and I know I have so much more in me to put out on the field. I am easily reachable through my phone or email; 206-771-9283; [email protected].
