I aspire to be a college athlete, because after joining cross country, I discovered my passion in athletics. Immediately after joining the team and seeing quantifiable results for my training, it sparked a drive to constantly improve.
I will be a good candidate for any team, because of my personality. After only my first cross-country season, I was chosen to be the team captain inspiring others to become better athletes. This coupled with my work ethic distinguishes me from other athletes, because I can translate these skills to lead others and create a successful environment. Through cross-country and pole vault training, I learned how to push my limits mentally and physically to achieve success in a short time.
My work ethic comes from striving to be on the varsity team, which motivated me to complete extra miles, research recovery methods, and lock down on my nutrition. After hard training, I improved my time from an 18:48 to a 17:11 in my first season. Using this mentality, I was able to translate my skills, excelling in pole vault during the track season, and qualifying for districts.
On top of athletics I was able to maintain above a 3.5 GPA in all my classes. This year alone, I am taking four IB classes out of the six in my schedule. My academic consistency as well as my athletic achievements shows that I can balance academics, sports, and social life.
In college I look to find an environment where I can train effectively and find a team that pushes me to my limits, where I can contribute and grow both physically and mentally. I also look to study physical therapy academically.
