Growth is a true addiction that I possess. While I compete with others to push myself to improve, I have learned that personal growth is the most valuable kind. Every time I reach a new personal record in pole vaulting, it reminds me that each drop of sweat has been worth it. That feeling of growth is something that cannot be compared to anything else, other than helping others improve. Aiding others provides the figurative drug of growth in addition to the wholesome feeling of helping others. I recently created the Middle School Study Group Club to help students who struggled during COVID times, widening not just their understanding, but my leadership abilities. I strive to be not the best, but the best that I can be, and I push others to do the same. It is commonly remarked that I am a positive influence on those I interact with, which in my eyes is the highest compliment that I can receive.
Using this drive has made me successful as a scholar, athlete, and extracurricular participant. I have single-handedly founded three clubs and assisted in forming another. I am heavily involved in not just student leadership, but also city government. I am an official officer on the Envision Council, which manages the marina and runs various community projects and gatherings. Despite my love of being involved, one of the greatest lessons that I have learned is how to say no to new projects to prevent myself from becoming overwhelmed. This culmination of dedication, drive, desire, and personal control has culminated in a powerful personality that I use to create a better environment around me, and I hope that my college experience will give me the tools to make an impact on the world, generating new research and technology to advance the education of humanity.
