Dear College Track Coaches,
My name is Amogh Pande, and I'm currently a sophomore at Inglemoor High School.
I'm sure you get many of these emails, and you may be wondering- "how is this kid different from the rest?"
Many people will say- "I have untapped potential," or simply "I can work harder than anybody else." My parents immigrated to the USA from the country of Nepal, and they taught me to simply be honest and straightforward. I'm simply willing to fight through adversity and use my ambition to eventually earn a spot on a college track team.
I just started running for track last year, in my freshman year of high school, and I'm still learning. Unfortunately, I hurt myself during my freshman year, rupturing my quad. This injury carried over into my sophomore year, and I was restrained by injury, but was able to come back and start running track. My best event was the 100m. Recently, I clocked in an 11.78 (FAT) time at high school meet. My next best event is the 200m, where I clocked in a 24.03 (FAT) in my final high school meet for this season. However, I was recently cleared by my trainer as fully healthy, and participated in some post-injury time trials at Inglemoor High School to see how I was feeling after my quadricep fully healed, and as a sophomore, I ran a 11.39 100m, a 22.99 200m, and a 54.89 400m (all hand times, as the season had just concluded).
I feel as if I'm a strong potential candidate for your school because I'm not only a track runner, but a student. I currently take all Pre-IB classes and have a 4.0 GPA, and take a classes for students who are two grades above me. I plan on obtaining a full-IB diploma, and I take my academics very seriously (participating in multiple National-level competitions).
I want to go to a college that's strong academically, and will accept me on their track team.
Thanks for reading,
Amogh Pande, Class of 2020

I feel as if I'm a strong candidate for many schools because I'm not only a track runner, but a student. I recently competed for my school in the 2017 National Science Olympiad Tournament, and was the President of a top-20 placing team. Furthermore, I want to contribute to my community (I've done about 250 volunteer hours for my community during my freshman and sophomore years). I just started track in my freshman year, and I've earned the school 9th grade records for the 100m and 200m (FAT times). I want to go to a college that's strong academically, and will accept me on their track team. But I'm open to all offers, I find every one very gracious and I really hope to be able to run track in college.
